Baby It Was Cold Outside

December 2, 2005

Duluth. December. “I can see your breathe.” Any questions?

Jay & Emily are a warm couple. They are friendly and their positive energy radiates freely from them both. We needed all their extra degrees that day. I’m trying to forget, but I believe it was a lovely below zero day.

Jay, a bit nervous, went to Thrillz for some pre-nuptial pin-ball. Meanwhile, the gals rocked and rolled and Emily literally dove into her beautiful gown.

Emily & Jay exchanged personally written vows in the Pilgrim Congregational Church. This was the same church that Emily’s parents said “I do” in, thirty years prior. Cool, huh? Last minute touches were added to the Christmas theme, as Mr. Rich (Emily’s father) tied mistletoe to branches and “the boys” lit ice votives made earlier by Jay.

After the ceremony, the couple left for the DECC in an old car. I can’t remember the model, because I’m not into cars…sorry guys. That being said, even though I’m not “into” old cars it was totally awesome! It didn’t even have heat!!! And, I think they cranked it to get it started…

The DECC was decked out! I wanted to sing “DECC the Halls.” Okay, okay, I’ll stop with the puns. Seriously, the place looked spectacular! Snowflakes suspended in ice sculptures, little red tinsel trees on every table, tanenbaums covered in unique ornaments (which were intended for guests to take as gifts from the couple!) and buffet tables of yummy food. Meanwhile, guests were treated to an ice cream sundae station! You read those words correctly. Ice scream you scream we all scream…don’t get me started about my love of peppermint bon bon (mint chocolate chip for the rest of you non-Minnesotans). Jay & Emily own Bridgeman’s!

Adam and Rachel took Emily & Jay outside for a twinkling evening photo opp, and all I can say is the results were bittersweet. Bitter temperature. Sweet pics! Thanks guys we had a blast with you both!
